DUNE + STARWARS bc duh
EVERYTHING about dune is rich as hell - the colors, the beadwork drippage, o my fucking lordt. this movie makes future ancient a SITUATION. The deep stories woven into the purpose of each garment takes wearable tech mixed with museum-level made up history to new heights.
also just a hot sec for lady jessica bc she is giving slay and is very julia fox???? anyone else see it or just me?

STARWARS set the stage for future ancient with people in plastic tech suits but also in drapey robes; cold clean spaceships but also vast deserts.
texture mixing and interesting braids are HUGE in future ancient.
RAISED BY WOLVES - a deeper cut, to be sure, but OOZING style.
the way we’re mixing earth toned latex with a chic necklace bag that literally holds death-laser eyeballs DEFINES THIS WHOLE MOVEMENT!!!!!!!!

i love mad max just as much as the next girlie but steam punk exists AFTER all hope is lost in a time where everything is adapted out of need. there is LACK. Future Ancient feels wealthier, more robust, more LUXURIOUS, more carefully crafted and filled with bespoke discovery—not desperation.
& TO RLY BRING IT HOME: i call upon alexander mcqueen
one final gripe i have to close out this topic is how much i hate an immersive experience. bc not everything needs to be experiential. what i love so much about the future ancient aesthetic is it blends just enough tech with just enough natural elements to avoid corniness at every turn. it will never be immersive bc it exisited before and after all of time.
