welcome to What Is This Regarding? where we take a critical lewk at wtf’s going on around us. This wk, we’re talking about one of my favorite topics, one of the HOTTEST topics, so ancient, so sacred, so WHOLESOME: BOOKS.
last year, the idea of *books as props* entered the chat thanks to the high priestesses of white lotus. I AM DEBUNKING THIS TREND. PLEASE LET ME REPEAT. BOOKS ARE MEANT TO BE READ. AND ONLY SOMETIMES ARE USED AS PROPS. okay so basically they weren’t totally wrong.
books are beautiful; they teach you things, they invite you to iMaGiNe. here are 3 of my top reasons for being rly into books:
(1) Books make you hotter. this wknd at our book pop up with a good used book at the studio everyone was….. SO HOT.
Yes, I know this is LA….but like…..book people sort of get a rep of giving this:

THAT IS JACK KEROUAC!!!!! not a model. a writer. a reader. and proving my damn point. is knowledge power….of hotness? maybe its bc a book makes it easy to look mysterious or to ignore people…? I’m not sure. but i was absolutely confused if the pop up was for books or a CASTING CALL FOR SUPERMODELS.
(2) books are a gateway drug. and my substance of choice for escape. here’s a quick hit:
(3) books bring you closer to being a better person. fr, who didn’t say they want to read more this yr? we all want to make it…. pardon the buzzword…. a RITUAL. let me hit u with the 📠:
we can all become ritualistic readers - bc it will 100% make us hotter, more inspired, and that absolutely should be a habit! OKAY I’M DONE NOW GO READ A DAMN BOOK!!!!!!!
