🔥The Fueg: Talking about *The Real Work* 🔥

Welcome to 🔥The Fueg 🔥, the newsletter no one asked for but everyone needs. I've been gone for a minute, but with purpose. I've been working...or should I say, doing *The Real Work*. That is today's topic, so tap in, because we're going down a woo woo rabbit hole. LFG. ✨

*The Real Work* (best described at-length and in all its lo res glory here) is lying on a accupressure mat for 40 minutes; it's taking a walk and hearing an unlikely bop blasting from a vintage volvo; it's going to a bookstore to find something vibey to read cover to cover (cue: #booktok, but more on that later) and then collage when you finish. You with me so far? Great. 

Exhibit A: people doing *The Real Work*:

*The Real Work* can happen in unlikely places, like in a movie theatre playing the massive box office hit Free Guy (HIGHLY RECOMMEND). *The Real Work* is not bound to locations, sounds, or lewks, it's everywhere--a state of mind--*The Real Work* lies *WiThiN*.

That's right, my friends, we're talking offline, off-journal, off-the-rack. But, you know i would never leave you hanging with such vague concepts. Here at The Fueg, we are concrete. We are seekers. So come along as I show you a few ways to channel *The Real Work* NRG!!!! 

1. ART IS EVERYWHERE

You know this feeling. When you take that first bite of sugarfish something delicious, homemade, and from a farmer's market in Ojai. It can bring you to tears. It's not the bite. It's something else. It's something... BeYonD. Stick with me on this. The transcendence of a bite can hit different in your soul. And that, my friends, is both ART and *The Real Work*. It's not the sad desk salad we've talked about too many times. It's joy, and you sought it out. The 👏Real 👏Work👏.

2. #Booktok

What do The Page Master, Andy Warhol *portrayed by David Bowie*, and Carrie Bradshaw have in common? BOOKTOK!!! Booktok isn't just a hashtag, it's a state of being. Nothing is more *The Real Work* than getting lost in a book. Time does not exist! Lewks do not exist (well they do)! So strap on your *ArT* thinking helmet or Gautier newsprint dress and hit the bookstore. Imagination has no limit. I recommend: Mercury Retrograde.

3. BIG Big Sur EnErGy

Also known as BBSE, Big Big Sur Energy is CERTIFIED *The Real Work* and may even be the HQ of *The Real Work*. Here's the vision: you're draped in vintage Paco, you're standing on a chilly beach, the ocean sounds rock your core, a hot coffee awaits back in your cabin (or luxury hotel suite). This is the place to get cEnTerEd, and if I have YET to make that clear, getting *centered* is what it's all about. Finding YOUR center. And now that Barney's is forever closed (RIP, and also huge F you to the MFers who made it a Halloween Express), I center myself in Big Sur. SO, I ask you, my sweet friends, Jack Kerouawhen are we going back to Big Sur?

I leave you with this: pls for the love of god consider taking a moment today for you. Not for "work" but for *The Real Work*, whatever that means to you. Whatever makes your soul feel the way mine feels when I see Diorquake clogs.
