Welcome to 🔥The Fueg 🔥, the newsletter no one asked for but everyone needs. We are BACK, and today, yung grasshopper, we're talking about woo woo wellness. That's right, I'm your resident expert today *reads goop once* on all things extreme self-care.
For the last year, taking care of myself has been more in focus (yes--I used to occasionally hit SoulCycle and sometimes sleep...but that is not *self-care*). I ice roll and gua sha most mornings followed by my culty workout, The Class. I dabble in an accupressure mat, I take mindful walks, and even have a meditation practice (oh fuck, I think the first rule of mediation is to not talk about meditation)... but I think as a woman in her tHirTieS, it's time to step my game up. And I thought, who better to bring on this wildly mild ride than The Fueg? Grab your matcha and LFG, I'm going to hit you with my eXpErT tips toward living a SeLf-CaRinG life (also read: AFFIRMATIONS!!!!)
1. On the road inward, you're bound to get a little lost.
So yeah, we've all had that moment where you try a thing that should feel good like hiking or therapy and you're more lost than ever once you're in it. The key? Just keep going. There isn't a destination. The best any of us can do is swap the 7th coffee of the day for a glass of *GASP* filtered water and call it a day. One step in any direction is good.Â
2. But...what IS self-care actually?

Are baths proven to really calm you? Bc I just get hot AF and a little ornery after about 2 minutes
Is weed/cbd/microdosing on mushrooms now just for mainstream aunties and olds?
Through many hours banked in therapy, group therapy, coaching with the iconic Coaching By AW and year-round exposure to sun, I can safely say self-care is all of those and also none. It's making time to check-in with the most important b*tch in town: you. That's it. Periodt. Check the fuck in. How are you feeling? How do you want to feel? How can we get there, together? (AND WITH MF SUN FOR THE ASSIST)
3. Growth lewks good.
And it lewks different for everyone. Think of yourself as in-progress couture. Each of our houses has its own style--all impeccable or grotesque or sexy or intentionally frayed. If you feel it, keep it movin even if it's awkward as fuq bc I see you queenie and it's WORTH IT.
These growing seedlings just got me HYPE.
4. Focus on you... and when the focus has to be on something external, make sure it's shit that actually matters.

5. Incoherence is just as important as eloquence.Â
Sometimes when you're thinking through the hard stuff or having a great day or wake up from a thicc nap with really incredible thoughts that feel like this:

Just remember, I'm here. I get you. We're all hurting from something and healing from something else and honestly all that matters is that you know how hot and cool and mf incredible you really are. So slap on a bandaid, make it colorful, and know, YOU'VE GOT ME.
