XXL NEWS
Hi gorgeous angels,
welcome to What Is This Regarding? where we take a critical lewk at wtf’s going on around us. Been moving in silence like lasagna and now it’s time to discuss the deliciousness.
me and nina—the icon that is That Girl That Did Your Hair—teamed up to make not one, but two of the c*ntiest, designerest, billowiest, sustainablest, and yes— HUGEST—scrunchies known to man.
CHECK THESE BABIES OUT.
made from the scraps of legends Balenciaga and DSquared2. Yes you heard that right. A PIECE OF FASHION HISTORY. FASHUN. HISTORY.
but let’s talk about LOVE. bc that is the origin story for these big ass scrunchies that are so much more than an accessory. they are THE accessory. last year WEAR HOTHEAD emerged from a pile of gorgeous silky scraps kindly donated by a designer… this led to more fabric donations from more designers who simply didn’t know where else to **mindfully dump** their scraps. This is actually something a lot of brands go thru. It can be costly to donate scraps (if they’re even accepted to resell anywhere), take up space they don’t have in their studios, or simple seem too small or too chopped to get reused.
but to be used is to be loved.
so this ALL led to an iconic link up with Nina, hair legend, it girl extraordinaire, and literally the smartest, most creative human i’ve met and merged brains with in a hot minute and it just felt RIGHT.
SO GIRLS JUST REMEMBER LUXURY TRASH IS ALL THE RAGE AND KEEPING THINGS OUT OF LANDFILLS CAN BE HUGELY SEXY!!!!!
also putting things on your head cheers you up. omg i almost forgot to even mention that these giant scrunchies are not only to adorn the hair, but also to be worn as a bracelet, double them as a cuff lewk, strap em onto your favorite bag — big or clutch — as a bag charm or even a wristlet. BALL CHAIN INCLUDED FOR ALL YOUR CLIP ART MAGIC. LIKE CLIPPING THEM ONTO YOUR NO BUTT POCKET JEANS???? LETS FUCKING GO!!!!!!!!
if you haven’t had enough of me, pls read my merde magazine: SUSTY IS A MUSTY serial all fashion week long, first piece about iconic emerging designer Gabe Gordon is HERE.
