does this sound like you? probably. bc today’s beatniks are *~HOT GORLS*~ made of one part anger, two parts leisure, three parts confusion, all with underlying beliefs of woo woo wellness.

the way beatniks sought nirvana + enlightenment seems to align with today’s hot gorls seeking enlightenment via self-care. that is, setting personal boundaries, finding the right ice roller, and HAVING IT ALL. but don’t be confused - having it all doesn’t mean the material - not in the slightest. there is a strong tie to the beatniks commercial refusalism in the Hot Girl Beatnik of today.
what does this mean tho rly? it means we’re in an era where valuing whomst you are not just what you do matters. it means believing in yourself bc THE FUTURE IS WAITING FOR YOU TO BE TRUE TO YOUR DAMN SELF.
ok so this all is a littttttttle more cheery than the beatniks who basically were absurdists drinking themselves to death, but i’m resting my case bc i worship face oil and meditation like kerouac worshiped run-on sentences.
